Influencer Marketing 101: Small Business Edition

Influencer partnerships and campaigns are not just for big businesses. Influencer marketing plays a big role in growing a small business and it doesn’t require writing a big check as compensation can be given through a free service, product, repost, and more. If you have a small business and don’t know how to get started with influencer marketing, don’t worry, we got you.

Two Way Street.

Do your research. Find influencers that have a similar niche and audience as you. Look at the collaborations that the influencer has done in the past and see if their content can benefit your business. You want to ensure that the partnership will benefit both of you.

Chat it Up.

After you’ve found a couple of influencers, make sure you know their story and what they do so you can establish a relationship through a personal email or DM. Make it clear who you are and what you do. Introduce the specific collaboration or campaign that you are pitching and give all the
necessary details. Influencers don’t care to read messages that are obviously sent out in the masses so make it personal.

They’re Down. What Next?

Explain all the details of the campaign/collaboration so that you are both ready to make killer content. After the collab is over try to build a long term relationship with this influencer (if the collab went well) so that you can continue to work with them in the future.

You got this.
